The CMA-900 is one of the world's first GPS/FMSs for GPS primary means navigation in oceanic/remote areas, and also meets the requirements of TSO-C129a, class A1/B1/C1. Designed from the start for operation in the evolving FANS, CNS/ATM and Eurocontrol environments, the system incorporates provisions for future AOC/ATC/ADS datalink compatibility as well as wide and local area differential GPS navigation for precision approaches. A full complement of analog and digital interfaces is provided for other aircraft subsystems and displays, as well as company route and worldwide navigation databases.

As a multi-sensor navigator meeting TSO-C115b, the system integrates other approved navigation sensors and offers several navigation modes including GPS, DME/DME, VOR/DME and INS/IRS. The CMA-3000 MCDU is an ARINC 739A compatible Multifunction Control Display Unit (MCDU). It can interface with up to six (6) subsystems. Over a hundred units have been shipped. It is the OEM MCDU for the CASA C-295 Military Turboprop Transport aircraft. Excellent reliability and MTBF.

The unit is compact, with a full alphanumeric keyboard, 15 function keys, 12 line select keys and 9 LCD annunciators. Custom keyboard layouts are available upon request. The unit requires no forced air cooling and runs on 28 VDC and 5VAC/DC for keyboard backlighting.

The unit meets MIL-L-85762A NVG specifications. The front panel can meet the DO-160D requirements for sand and dust and waterproofness.
